Installations

My multifaceted installations exist on the line between representation and intuitive abstraction, allowing the expression of various motifs that arise in my practice. I navigate the relationships between migration, labour, cultural beliefs, education, and technology through various mediums. Enigmatic and charged, these works do not always reveal their multiple layers, mimicking the feeling of uncertainty felt by many migrants and refugees at cultural borders or crossroads. I often return to a key tenet of West African culture, one which mirrors a universal experience: that the human being was born for death and life. Each form represents a story, a soul, or a truth.
