Les Emotionnées

Who has never worn jeans in their life? Despite their democratic and universal appeal, jeans remain highly individual. They carry a history of sweatshops and unfair labour conditions yet can be charged with sentiment. Jeans know the person who wore them best—close to the skin, emotions of anger or joy… With these dualities in mind, discarded jeans become a canvas on which I „think“ with a mixture of water, glue, and colour pigments, transforming them into expressive murals. My artworks reveal an interest in aesthetic properties and carry a wealth of emotive connotations and contrasts, from different cultures to the poetry of everyday life.
